Emergency Terminology for School Employees

Lockdown, lockout, soft-lockdown, shelter-in-place, PIO, MCI, ICS – all commonly used terms in the school campus arena during a critical incident. It is crucial for school employees to be on the same page as first responders. Equally as important is that school districts and school sites must speak the same language in a critical incident and have a firm understanding of basic critical incident terminology. This workshop will provide you with the current and most up-to-date terminology for critical incidents as well standardizing emergency language throughout your school district.
